Costs
In a world in which transport plays an important role in economic activity and the movement of people and goods professional driving skills are becoming a necessity. However, gaining this skill is not inexpensive. It is necessary to consider a variety of expenses, including the cost of training as well as the test. In Europe truck drivers need a Code 95 Certificate to drive trucks that weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. The driver must also know how to read the speed limit and kilometer signs on the road.
Options for training
Code 95 on a driver's licence indicates that you have completed the necessary instruction to drive trucks or buses professionally. It is a requirement you must fulfill every five years in order to renew your work license. The 35-hour course can be completed at a driving academy or at home via e-learning. The course can be spread over five years. Your employer may pay for the courses.
There are two types of instruction for Code 95: the long course and the shorter course. The long course is about four weeks and ends with a government exam. After passing the test, you will receive an ID card in plastic. The card must be entered to the database of unified European certificates. The school in which you attended your classes will then submit the card to the database. The card will be processed within 14 days.
The long course costs approximately 2,000 PLN. The exam is 300 PLN. You'll have to pay an additional fee to the school for them to enter your certificate to the unification of the European database. When the card is approved you can pick it up from the school.
To be able offer an educational course that is able to issue Code 95, you must follow certain protocols as trainer. First you must submit a plan of training to the CBR. This plan must be approved by the CBR prior to classes begin. You must also adhere to other strict guidelines throughout the training.
You will receive an official certificate from the CBR once you have completed the course successfully. The certificate can be mailed to the RDW. The RDW will then allow you to renew your license at the municipality after you have submitted your application successfully. If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, you are not able to operate trucks or buses professionally for more than 12 hours a week. If you plan to drive more than 12 hours a week, you'll have to complete a new training course.
Exams
In order to get the code 95 indication on your license, you must pass both theoretic and practical tests. These tests can be completed separately or together with the acquisition of the basic category license at an driving school. On successful completion of the exam, you will be awarded a certificate as well as a code 95 card. The card is valid for 5 years, and must be renewed before the expiry date.
You can choose between either a short or a lengthy course for the exam code 95 depending on the training program. The long course is about four weeks long and culminates with a government test. In this exam you will have to answer 30 questions about the subjects covered during your classes.

The most popular driving license in Europe is the C-license. In the Netherlands, the requirement is that you pass the initial qualification for professional drivers at the Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen, or CBR, in Dutch). You also need to pass medical exam.
You also need a driving license C or D for buses as well as passenger cars. Bus drivers must pass both the oral and written tests. In addition, they must have a code 85, which is a certificate proving their professionalism.
